AS HEARD ON

AS VIEWED ON

There are few things I enjoy more than appearing as a talking head on television. Sharing life-changing advice with an audience in clever soundbites is what I call a good time. Check out my sizzle reel with some of my favorite on-air appearances.

Lynya has been a warm, tough and savvy presence at our Freelancing Workshop for several years since the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism opened in 2006. She reviews our students’ pitches and offers spot-on improvements as well as suggestions for where to market the work. The students love and trust her. As an added bonus, she has a great laugh!

From the moment Lynya walked into my classroom, my NYU journalism undergrads were captivated. Lynya is engaging, smart and delivered a lecture that was on-point and full of real-world experience that will be invaluable to students as they embark on their journalism careers. She has an inimitable way of explaining complex topics with the utmost of clarity. I’d love for her to guest lecture at every one of my classes.

Lynya was a great addition to the panel I moderated on health and medical writing at the ASJA Annual Writers Conference. With experience as both a writer and an editor, she offered practical tips for writers who want to break into new markets and build lasting working relationships. We’ve had excellent audience feedback about her presentation.

For years, I organized editor panels for several national writers’ organizations, always aiming to assemble a mix of top health and science editors. Lynya generously agreed to join two editor events I worked on at the annual meeting of the Association of Health Care Journalists and I’m so glad she did. Her lively and information-packed presentation guided writers well beyond the mechanics of breaking into publications. Participants told me afterwards that Lynya was helpful, enthusiastic and able to put writers at ease—qualities that freelancers cherish in editors.
